No Excuses

While we’ve been getting hammered by snowfall over this last couple of weeks, I’ve heard a lot of people making all the common complaints – “I’m sick and tired of shoveling,” “my back is killing me,” “they plowed me in again,” “the neighbor’s kids are idiots,” etc. etc. Well, while most people are complaining and/or cozying up on a warm couch with a bowl of chips and some hot chocolate, James Pitonyak & co. are out skateboarding. Yes, outside. After some good old fashioned hard work, and a few days of no snowfall, James and his crew had the local skatepark’s ramp all shoveled out and dry. So last Sunday, in the middle of an outdoor park covered in snow, we had a sick 2-hour session. Yeah, even I got out there and skated with them. I wasn’t stoked on the few slams I took in that cold, but it was worth it. Plus, I was just getting amped on the amount of gnarliness James was able to throw down under, dare I say, such extreme conditions. This miniramp aint no 4 or 5 foot tall mellow-tranny style ramp. It’s a 6-foot with surprisingly good trannies for a cookie-cutter township skatepark. So when you see the stuff James is doing in the video below, you know it took work for him to pull it off. Check it out. Oh, and the footage was shot with a pretty nifty HD camera, so be sure to select HD when you watch it.
